While students are not required to practice advanced asana such as arm balances and inversions to attend this training, they can expect to leave with a more complete understanding of strength building progressions and how to incorporate unique and complex movements into an efficient yoga flow.

In order to be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance for the 500HR Yoga Teacher Registration, students must have a previous 200HR Yoga Alliance approved training and registration, as well as complete the required attendance and teaching hours, in accordance with Yoga Alliance guidelines. Not sure if you’re the right fit? What to Expect

Taught in Steph and Erin’s signature style, the Authentic Movements 300HR training will offer a safe community space to explore personal and professional growth, both on and off the mat.

Expect high-level alignment breakdowns on hundreds of postures and intense focus on the transitions and space between asanas in order to cultivate a graceful strength for a fluid flow.

A balance between flow and form, Authentic Movements asks us to first learn the nitty gritty details so that we can then break free and mold them to our own needs or the needs of our students.

Training days will be packed with complex, but efficient and effective practices, sequencing breakdowns to analyze the morning flow, hands on lectures, and restorative or cross-training work to keep the body supple and strong.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your personal practice or further expand your teaching toolbox, this training will give you a chance to develop and hone your personal creative language on the yoga mat.

Training Focus Points: Personal Practice Development, Alignment Details, Safe Progression to Enter and Teach Inversions, Applied Anatomy, Art of Sequencing, Props and Modifications, Hands on Assists.

Additional Topics: Introspective Practices (Journaling/Mantra/Pranayama/Mandala), Yoga Philosophy and Asana Myths, Myofascial & Meridian Work, Yoga for Injuries, Yoga for Athletes, Workshops/Retreat/Training/Festival Development, Integration of Other Movement Modalities, Business Development & Social Media Workshops.

Meet Lead Teachers Steph Góngora & Erin Kelly + Guest Teachers Bianca Scalise & Dr. Jen Esquer

Steph Gongora (@casa_colbiri) is a 200-HR E-RYT, 500-HR RYT certified yoga and aerial teacher currently based in Uvita, Costa Rica. She completed her first formal 200-HR training with Meghan Currie, and continued to pursue an additional 300-HR training with Christina Sell at The San Macros School of Yoga. During her many years in Austin, TX, she regularly attended additional training and continued education with Erinn Lewis of Sukha Yoga, and recently started another online 200-HR study with Alanna Kaivalya.

An athlete her whole life, Steph practiced gymnastics until high school, taught pole fitness during college (where she studied Biology and Chemistry), and started a serious daily yoga practice over three years ago. Her teaching style combines precise breakdowns of form and anatomical cuing with a creative flow style, stressing unusual transitions and authentic movements practices. She has developed a deep love and respect for inversions of all kinds, which is what promoted her to write her first two books in early 2016 – The Beginner’s Guide to Handstand & The Beginner’s Guide to Handstand Pressing. She later added The Beginner’s Guide to Starting a Yoga Practice for those looking to deepen their personal asana exploration.

Steph is happily married with five furry children and officially moved down to Costa Rica in the fall of 2016 to start construction Flō Eco Retreat Center on the South Pacific coast. When Erin and Steph aren’t travel teaching elsewhere, they host most retreats & trainings at Flō. And when she isn’t doing yoga, she enjoys reading, writing, anything outdoors, writing more books (probably about more Yoga), and spending time with her (not so) little family. www.casa-colibri.com

Erin Kelly @erinkellyart is a traveling yoga teacher based in Venice Beach, California. She is known for her personal grace and fluidity of movement in both practice and teaching, and can often be found upside down or cultivating creativity through unusual transitions. Her teaching style is refreshing and playful, while still incorporating precise cues and pose breakdowns to help students understand the movements of their bodies and the path to personal growth.

She continues to develop a strong personal practice, studying various lineages, and consciously chooses not be defined by a particular school or style. Erin has studied under Megan Currie and is a regular in the LA yoga studio scene. She has also spent many hours training with Tearson Bickmore, as well as received extended hours in Dharma and Rocket under a Yancy Schwartz mentorship.

Erin has written for or been featured in Mantra Magazine, Yoga Guide Magazine and Yoga Journal, as well as made many appearances on national and international media sources. These days, you can find her focusing her time on creating unique, informative, and stimulating classes, workshops ,and trainings, often with her teaching partner Steph Gongora.

A true artist by nature, Erin received a BFA in Oil Painting with a minor in Art History from The Maryland Institute College of Art. She is passionate about the idea that if we open our bodies up physically, we can tap into all sorts of creative, emotional, and psychological breakthroughs. Whether it’s with a paintbrush in hand or just through body movement, Erin is continuously creating her own form of art and expression and believes we all have this freedom of expression. www.erinkellyart.com

Bianca Scalise (@bianca.scalise.yoga) is a Yoga instructor with a passion to help people. Her heart is on fire to share the healing and soul enriching practices of Yoga and meditation.

“After finding Yoga I felt an amplification in my enjoyment of life. Week by week I could feel my body getting so much stronger and more connected. The aches in my neck and back from my spinal stenosis were fading and now my body truly surprises me with all that it can do! I feel a sense of freedom in my body & mind that just keeps expanding with my yoga practice:). I can step on my mat with so much on my mind and am humbled at the calm and peace that fills me by the end of my practice. There is a fire inside me to share these feelings with you!”

Bianca studies Yoga all over the world. She recently completed a 500 hour certification program with Dylan Werner, with whom she also toured internationally for three months assisting intensives and workshops. Bianca is also currently pursuing an additional 500 hour program Yoga Medicine. She has attended specific trainings on the Shoulders, Spine, Myofascial Release, and Hips to learn how to encourage proper function and relieve pain. Sharing yoga is her Mission, Passion and Love! www.biancascalise.co

Dr. Jen Esquer (@docjenfit) is a self proclaimed MOVER! Active since she was a young child, she first fell in love with gymnastics and was an avid competitor for 9 years. In high school, she left gymnastics to explore track and field, as well as dabbled in dance. While she was lucky enough to avoid major injury during her younger years, she faced minor issues such as ankle sprains, pulled muscles, and fractures, yet never once went to a physical therapist.

Yet, she loved anything having to do with anatomy, physiology, and without knowing for sure whether physical therapy would be her path, she decided to study Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton. During this time, she was coaching gymnastics and consistently found her asking, “Why am I taping an ankle? What is truly the issue and how can I help further?” She was seeking MORE, and was fortunate enough to meet someone teaching a Pilates Bootcamp where she quickly fell in love with the specificity of body movement. Doc Jen started instructing pilates classes, both on the reformer and mat for 6 years throughout undergrad and graduate school. Not only did she appreciate how much pilates reminded me of gymnastics conditioning, but she loved the focus on intricate muscle activation, isometric holds, strict form, and body awareness through core activation.

After graduating with my B.S. in Kinesiology, Jen was accepted into Loma Linda University where she received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Jen quickly accepted a job at VERT Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation in beautiful Santa Monica, CA. Since working, she has met amazing individuals who have aided in the expansion of her knowledge of the body. Jen has studied Myodetox directly under co-founder, Vinh Pham (@vinnierehab), taken a RockTape course with @themovementmastro herself, and learned from many others professionals in the rehab game.

Jen is now stepping into the next chapter of her career as a private sports therapist, creating programs, hosting workshops, and treating one on one for a more direct and precise experience. Her mission is to heal the world and the best way she can do that is through empowering YOU to learn how to heal yourself! Becoming educated on what is going on with your body is the most powerful piece of knowledge for establishing health and longevity for a pain-free and active lifestyle! www.docjenfit.com
